What does it mean to truly have joy as a believer, and what is quietly stealing it from us? Drawing from Romans 15 and Galatians 5, we are confronted with a sobering reality: we live in a world described in Ephesians 2 as spiritually dead, governed by a cultural spirit that deadens our appetite for the things of God. The more we immerse ourselves in that dead culture, the more our souls grow dry and weary. But here is the striking truth — joy is not something we manufacture. It is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, a gift given to every believer. That means if anyone in this world should be walking in genuine, deep, unshakeable joy, it is us. The question is not whether joy is available to us. It is why so many of us are living without it.
